Wading and waiting

It's funny how the zeal that you have when you first launch your business dissipates over time, especially as you wait to make the first dollar. It feel as if I'm swimming to shore but the tide takes me further and further away. I feel like I want to give up but I know I must reach the shore. My body wants to give in to the fatigue.
"Just drown  and give up! You're not made to do this!" the Pessimist says.
"NO!!!! I mustn't give up," I respond.
So the journey continues: I'm wading as I'm waiting.

Taking Action

For the past two years I've been sparked, so to say, to be an entrepreneur. I've bought ebooks, bought into 3 businesses, programs, etc. Each time I was pumped, excited, enthusiastic. But distractions got in the way whether they were financial (I don't have the money that XYZ is requiring me to do.), another venture caught my eye, or just life got in the way. And now that time is of the essence I really have to focus. Because let's just be honest: it takes a lot to become your own boss, especially when you're a newbie like me. My website designer (apexcomplete.com) must be tired of my calls. I placed two orders to Vistaprint. Then there is the business of marketing yourself in hopes that somone will want your product. But I must take this all in stride because this is just the groundwork of becoming an entrepreneur.
No one said this would be easy but at least I am taking action. And that's what matters the most. No longer am I marking time, hoping that something will change. I have to make things happen in order to change my circumstances. So what am I saying to you? If you have a dream, take action to make it come true. Whether that means researching the subject, investing money, etc., just move in that direction. Do what it takes for your dream to become reality.

Introduction

To be sparked is defined as being stirred up or activated. Different things or situations in life can be the spark to make changes in our behavior, home, community, etc. Death, divorce, job loss, birth, marriage, disease (I'm sure the list can go on!). Awareness of global warming has caused increases in recycling. Oprah's newest campaign is about making our automobiles a NO PHONE/TEXT ZONE!!! Why? To be the catalyst for change. My cousin wanted to instill some moral principles into her young grandchildren, because we as adults have to admit, the moral fiber of this nation is waning. A couple of years ago I read Robert Shemin's How Come THAT Idiot's Rich and I'm Not? His book inspired me to want to be a rich idiot, too. (You've got to read the book!) These are just a few examples of sparks. You can either be a couch potato and do nothing or be sparked and do something different. It's your choice.
